In short, it is our commitment to develop you. And
we will continue to invest heavily in you. So why go
somewhere else?

Our teacher training programmes – whether for children’s yoga or the full certificate – are unique in that we do not have a single dissatisfied customer. We teach in five different countries over the last four years and have trained numerous people from all walks of life, but we do not have a single dissatisfied customer. All criticisms are acted upon promptly and remedies put into place as soon as possible. Though this is heavy on our resource, the net result is that we are constantly improving ourselves at Sun Yoga.

*All our courses are fresh, as they are updated after every batch of teacher training programme, taking into account the experience from the previous programme.*

Many hours are devoted into making sure that our programmes are not stale and out of touch. And this can only happen because we are close to the people we have trained, and secondly, by having a fully functioning yoga studio where we teach regular classes (this is our laboratory).

Commitment is an important concept in yoga, and we practice it.

Wherever you live in the world, our commitment to you does not end the moment your cheque clears and we issue you with a certificate. As a Sun Yoga Teacher, you are invited to redo any part of your course that you were not sure about the first time round. FREE OF CHARGE, OF COURSE. The advantage to us for welcoming you back again and again at no extra cost is that we create a community of Sun Yoga teachers – you will be able to come back and share with the new batch of teachers as well as us.

People often think we are crazy – the we do not seek to maximise our profits from selling more and more courses to the existing client base – and that are business model is peculiar, but we gain tremendous satisfaction from what we do. We do not just train you and leave you – we continue to support you throughout your career. And nothing is more unique than the fact that we are in touch with the first batch of people we trained (they are featured here).

I, as the Founder and Director of Sun Yoga, believe that there must be truth in what we do.

OUR TEACHERS
Dr. Jacky Barr

“I bought my first ever yoga book 2 years ago. That book was "Fly Like a Butterfly." The motive for buying it was to make sure I had something to do with the kids while we were on holiday camping. We all loved the book and continued to do our yoga after the holiday.

Meanwhile in the grown up world I discovered Kundalini yoga and eventually I realised that the children’s yoga and the grown up stuff I was doing were both based on the teachings of the same man: Yogi Bhajan. At that point my involvement with Kundalini Yoga had a sense of destiny about it -the 2 paths converging as one. I have since completed SKY teacher training and so teach adults. I also completed Sun Yoga’s Yoga for Schools course, which was 4 days of hard work, much fun and laughter.

Although my main job is as a fitness instructor in the
local gym, I now regularly teach yoga in schools and
it can demanding but also fun and (eventually) its
always fulfilling. I teach mainly primary school aged
children as well as sixth formers.

My children are Heather (8), Zoe (7) and Abbey (5).
And they remain keen yoginis!

Judith Nichol

Judith Nichol, a Montessori teacher and children’s yoga instructor recently combined her two passions in life (children and yoga) to launch starchild yoga in RBWM. Judith trained under Dr. Jacqueline Koay from Sun Yoga who teaches a method of Kundalini yoga for children. After Kindergarten teaching in various countries, becoming a mother and running a successful Nursery school in North London, this seems to be the most natural progression for Judith.

“I believe that all children are stars and with some gentle attention, I encourage them to believe just how very special they are.”

Society tends to push people together, treating
them as one and forcing them to conform, so it is becoming increasingly important to make children aware that they are special and have the right to be whom they choose to be. With gentle encouragement and acknowledgement, children learn to believe in themselves and in turn learn to “walk taller than the stars, be brighter than the sun and be as peaceful, bright and beautiful as the moon” (Yogi Bajan).

If we are all given the opportunity to reach our full potential, how full of sparkle the world will be.

Judith runs classes in Cookham, Marlow, Knowl Hill, Maidenhead, Wargrave , Windsor and London. Classes are structured with the body of the class made up of warm-up exercises and postures. Some classes are taught using a creative and imaginative story, which is fun and enjoyable for the children.
